With over 10 years of research, the evidence is clear. Long periods of sitting have serious health consequences.

Even if you're active outside of work, too much sitting is associated with an increased risk of being overweight, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and depression.

The good news - adults who sit less throughout the day have a lower risk of illness and early death, particularly from heart disease. So how do we effectively get workers to Stand Up, Sit Less and Move More? Well, the BeUpstanding Toolkit is designed to educate and support change in the workplace.

The free Toolkit is an evidence based workplace initiative for getting Aussie workers to stand up, sit less and move more.

You're invited to our BeUpstanding: Stand Up, Sit Less, Move More Webinar, to learn about the risks of sitting for too long and how to combat sedentary behaviour in the workplace.

The session will be delivered by Professor Leon Straker, a contributing researcher to the BeUpstanding Toolkit. Professor Straker is an ergonomist from Curtin University with an international reputation for the research he has conducted in the areas of physiotherapy and ergonomics. Professor Straker has had over 30 years of experience working with businesses to reduce occupational risks and enhance productivity in the workplace.
