Get On Track Challenge

Diabetes WA’s Get on Track Challenge (GOTC) is a free, online team-based challenge that uses fun and friendly competition to encourage participants to make healthier choices. Teams of up to four people progress along a virtual track by inputting their daily fruit and vegetable intake and physical activity. The more you do, the more you move!

How does the challenge benefit my workplace?

Participating in the GOTC provides a fun and supportive team environment to help your workers be active and make healthy food choices. Evaluation of the GOTC found that:

  • Participants' physical activity increased by an average of 20 minutes a day after completing the program.
  • 85% of participants stated that they would recommend the program to their friends or family.
  • Participants' knowledge of the importance of fruit and vegetables for good health increased significantly.
  • 90% of participants stated that team camaraderie was one of the best aspects of the program.

When can I sign up my team?

Your workplace can compete in an Official Diabetes WA Challenge (which are coordinated by Diabetes WA) several times a year. Alternatively, you can create your own challenge and choose a date and duration that suits your workplace.

The GOTC can be synced with Jawbone, Fitbit and Garmin fitness devices.
