Established in Western Australia in 1975, Richmond Wellbeing (Cannington site) is a member of the global mental health organisation, Richmond Wellbeing. Richmond Wellbeing provides residential support to the community experiencing mental health illness.

Health and Wellbeing Achievements

Richmond Wellbeing (Cannington site) has received recognition for the following health and wellbeing activities:

  • Allocated resources and senior management support for Health and Wellbeing program
  • Dedicated health and well-being committee to plan and implement activities
  • Smoke-free policy with no designated areas
  • Detailed Action Plan outlining proposed activities spanning a 12 month period
  • Richmond Wellbeing Service of Alcohol Guidelines which state that: food must be available at all times; non-alcoholic and low alcoholic beverages must be at available at all times; drink activities or promotions that promote the excessive consumption are prohibited; and standard drinks and Australian Alcohol Guidelines are referenced and promoted.
  • Regular free staff wellness events, such as "Walking for Well-being" days to promote physical activity and less sedentary behaviour
  • End of trip facilities to promote staff undertaking physical activity before, during and after work
  • Free lunch time yoga
  • Sit stand workstations to encourage staff to be less sedentary during the work day
  • Provides a range of staff benefits to encourage healthy behaviours, such as pedometers and healthy prize packs (water bottle, back pack & hat) for staff participating in health and wellbeing events.
